Green Mill Restaurant
A legend has to start somewhere, right? Ours began in St. Paul, MN in 1935. For forty years Green Mill was a neighborhood staple and it’s still the oldest licensed pub in St. Paul.
On a trip to Chicago in 1975, Green Mill’s owners fell in love with deep dish pizza and added their version to the menu. What happened next was pizza history. Word spread. Lines formed. Awards were won. A legend was born.
At Green Mill, we’re proud of our neighborhood roots. It may have started with deep dish pizza, but it’s our deep commitment to quality food, genuine service, and our guests that keep the Green Mill legend growing.
Erbert and Gerberts
A series of bedtime stories, actually, that were told by a father to his 10 children as the Adventures of Erbert & Gerbert Herbert. He created these stories to teach his children about science, history, adventure and being a good friend.
One of those children grew up to become our founder. In tribute to his father, his family and those stories, he named his sandwich shop Erbert & Gerbert’s, and then created all of the sandwiches on the menu to honor the characters in the stories.
The first location opened in 1988 in the fine, fine town of Eau Claire, WI, and has since grown to 98 locations across 12 states. Every Erbert & Gerbert’s is a sandwich shop dedicated to serving better, more flavorful sandwiches than anyone else in the universe.
In the heart of every cowboy lies a dream. Adrie Groeneweg had one that started in Hull, Iowa, in 1981 when he was just 19 years old. It was simple. Why does everyone have to drive out of town to get a pizza? With just six specialty and single topping pizza recipes developed by Adrie’s mother, Lorraine, Pizza Ranch was born. The residents of Hull flocked to the young restaurant for made-from-scratch sauce and dough and other fresh ingredients. As word spread, Pizza Ranch grew. The dream that began in the heart of a young man now extends to thirteen states.
